Glass South America boosts the Brazilian glass market/div>
Glass South America is the main business platform in Latin America, and one of the most important events of the global glass market. Organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil, a leading trade show organizer in Brazil, it is considered a meeting point of professionals seeking the latest world trends and technologies in the manufacture and application of glass.

In 2014, Glass South America hosts its 11th edition providing the ideal space for networking, exchange of experiences and generation of businesses.

The Brazilian glass market

The Brazilian glass market is one of the fastest growing in the world. According to Panorama Setorial 2013 of the Brazilian Association of Distributors and Processors of flat glass (Abravidro), a partner of Glass South America since 1996, the transformation industry had a turnover of over R$ 4 billion in 2012.

The survey additionally indicates that the nominal production capacity of flat glass in Brazil has grown 106% over the last five years. Non automotive processed glass experienced a 30.5% growth between 2010 and 2012, resulting in a 55.9% market share in 2012.

The event

In its last edition, Glass South America 2012 achieved numerous positive results and received over 12 thousand visitors. Professionals from the furniture, civil construction, automotive, architecture and design industries, from Brazil and from abroad, earned about major solutions and applications developed for the manufacture and use of glass.

The event also hosted the second edition of the Brazilian edition of Glass Performance Days (GPD), an independent forum dedicated to the development of the global glass industry, and counted on important lecturers, like the engineer in charge of the project that integrates architecture and engineering of Apple stores, James O'Callaghan, from the firm Eckersley O'Callaghan.

In the 2012 edition, the first Solar Glass Expo took place, a business and discussion platform about the photovoltaic market.

To strengthen the importance of the event, a satisfaction survey was conducted, in which 88% answered to be satisfied or extremely satisfied with the general organization Glass South America; over 90% agree that the event ranks high in their companies marketing strategies and state that taking part in the event contributes for the generation of new businesses.

The 11th Edition

The next edition of Glass South America will take place between 21st and 24th May 2014 at Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo. This edition, which will be segmented in Glass Technology and Glass Design - the two main development and trends areas in the glass industry, is committed to exceeding the number of exhibitor brands, visitors and conference participants of the previous edition, with a 15% increase of the total exhibition area and 21% new exhibitors.

Brazil has been strengthening its image and position in the global scenario, and this is reflected in Glass South America with the significant participation of international companies. Among the 200 exhibiting brands, 35 are international, from the United States, Italy, Spain, England, Austria, Germany, the Arab Emirates, Israel and Belgium. The Italian Pavilion also projects a record growth this year, with around 1.200m² of exhibition space.

In the 11th edition, NürnbergMesse Brasil continues to invest in the success of Glass Performance Days (GPD). The conference will be organized in partnership with Abravidros and Glaston Finland, responsible for the content of the conference content. The macro-themes of this edition will be: efficiency in the production and processing of safety glass; quality and tests; new technical developments; project case studies; architectural design.

One of the novelties of Glass South America is the first edition of the 1st Summit Glass, developed to present different ideas and applications of the event's star - glass. Summit Glass promises to provide designers, engineers and architects with a new vision on the main tendencies of the industry.

The 2nd edition of Solar Glass Expo also has its place in this edition. The conference, with a sustainable approach, will gather important companies to debate energy efficiency and the photovoltaic market.
